Australia Triumph at Women's T20 World Cup: Player Reactions
Australia reclaimed their Women's T20 World Cup crown with a 7-wicket victory over England at Lord's. Here's how the squad reacted after their seventh title win:
Annabel Sutherland: "Pretty surreal. What better place to win a World Cup final. All tournament we've had different contributors and we showed that again today. The bowlers did an exceptional job and we played with absolute freedom with the bat."
Lucy Hamilton: "Unbelievable. You can't put into words all the feelings. So pumped to get my first World Cup wicket at Lord's in the final."
Shelly Nitschke (Coach): "Pretty stoked and relieved. There's no secret sauce to our consistency – we pride ourselves on our standards. Our leaders do a fantastic job of bringing the group together, especially integrating youngsters like Hamilton."
Phoebe Litchfield: "So special. The only way to play T20 is to throw the first punch. Moons made it look easy and took the pressure off me. Awesome partnership."
Georgia Voll: "Pretty bloody excited. The way Phoebe put the game away and Moons dominated from ball one was clinical. The depth in our squad is unreal."
Ellyse Perry: "An absolute joy to be a part of. The atmosphere has been phenomenal. To get over the line in Soph's first World Cup as captain is super special. What keeps me motivated is this group – amazing people who always want to get better."
