Injured Pratika Rawal Ruled Out of Lord's Test
India have been dealt a blow ahead of the historic one-off Test against England at Lord's after Pratika Rawal was ruled out. She sustained a cut on her knee during the second ODI and missed the final match of the series.
Priya Punia, part of the India A squad in England, has been drafted in as Rawal's replacement.
"Pratika Rawal has been ruled out due to an injury she picked up during the A series. She got a cut on her knee which required stitches. Priya Punia has been added to the squad," head coach Amol Muzumdar confirmed.
Rawal made her Test debut earlier this year at the WACA against Australia, while Punia is uncapped at Test level. She is in form, having scored back-to-back half-centuries against England in the A series.
This is another setback for the 25-year-old, who missed the ODI World Cup semifinal and final last year due to injury. She also didn't feature in the WPL, making her comeback in the ODIs in Australia.
