McCullum to step down as England Test coach, continue in white-ball role

Brendon McCullum will step down as England's Test head coach while continuing in charge of the men's white-ball sides, according to a report by Seven Network journalist Tom Morris.

Morris reported that the ECB is set to announce the decision on Sunday, ending McCullum's four-year stint in charge of the Test side while retaining him as white-ball coach.

McCullum's departure follows England's 4-1 Ashes defeat in Australia earlier this year and comes weeks after Ben Stokes retired from international cricket, bringing an end to the captain-coach partnership that had reshaped England's Test side since 2022.
