India all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the third ODI against England at Lord's with a hamstring injury. Harsh Dubey has been named as his replacement in the squad.
The 26-year-old will undergo scans and "seek a specialist opinion for further management of his injury", the BCCI said in a statement.
Washington injured his right hamstring while batting in the second ODI in Cardiff. He needed strapping on his right leg during his five-ball innings and later had difficulty climbing the stairs back to the dressing room. He did not take the field for England's chase.
Dubey, a left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder, earned his India cap in the recent home series against Afghanistan, returning figures of 3 for 47 on his ODI debut in Dharamsala.
Washington's absence leaves India with a selection call ahead of the series-decider. While Dubey adds another spin-bowling all-round option, Axar Patel already fills a similar role in the Playing XI and was Player of the Match in the first ODI at Edgbaston. This could instead open the door for Kuldeep Yadav, the legspinner yet to feature on the England tour.
India's updated squad for the third ODI: Shubman Gill (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer (Vice-Captain), KL Rahul (WK), Ishan Kishan (WK), Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Gurnoor Brar, Prince Yadav, Harsh Dubey
