Anushka, Yastika to Lead India A in Multi-Format Series

Anushka Sharma has been named captain of the India A T20 squad, while Yastika Bhatia will lead the side in the one-dayers and a one-off multi-day match of the upcoming multi-format series against Australia A. The series is set to be held in September and October, the BCCI announced on Thursday.

Anushka, who has played three T20Is, previously led India A in the England T20s in June, having made her T20I debut in April. She will lead a squad that also includes 22-year-old Sujata Dey, the Bengal batter who became the first woman to score a century in the Bengal T20 League in June this year.

In the one-day squad, Anushka will serve as deputy to Yastika, who made a long-awaited return to the national team in May this year after an injury layoff. She was part of the historic Lord's Test last month, scoring a century in the second innings.

Shubha Satheesh, Sushree Dibyadarshini, Shuchi Upadhyay, and Mamata Madiwala have been picked exclusively for the one-off red-ball game.

The Australia A squad will tour India for three T20s, as many one-dayers, and a multi-day game. The T20s will be held in New Chandigarh, while the one-dayers and the four-day match will take place in Dharamsala.
