Mayank Agarwal signs short‑term deal with Durham
Indian Test batter Mayank Agarwal has joined Durham for the final four fixtures of the County Championship.
- International record: 21 Tests (double‑century) and five ODIs for India; last national appearance was over four years ago.
- Domestic pedigree: Regular for Karnataka in first‑class cricket; member of RCB’s winning XI in last year’s IPL final.
- Previous county experience: Played three games for Yorkshire last season, ending with a sensational 175 against Durham.
“We are delighted to have Mayank joining us for our County Championship run,” said Durham Head Coach Ryan Campbell. “With David Bedingham returning to South Africa, it was important to recruit a high‑class international cricketer for the remainder of the season. Mayank is a hugely talented batter with a superb first‑class record, and we look forward to his contribution as we aim to secure promotion to Division One.”
Durham will rely on Agarwal’s experience as they push for a return to Division One of the County Championship.
