Two former BPL team officials charged under ICC’s anti‑corruption code

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has charged Md. Abdul Kayum Rashed (former owner of Chattogram Royals, BPL 2024‑25) and Md. Amin Khan (former official with Durbar Rajshahi, BPL 2024‑25, and later with the Royals, BPL 2025‑26) for violations of the ICC Anti‑Corruption Code. Both were provisionally suspended following the charges.

BCB statement

• Charges stem from investigations by the BCB Integrity Unit (BCBIU) into allegations of corrupt conduct, failure to disclose such conduct, non‑cooperation with investigations, and obstruction or delay of investigations related to the last two BPL editions.
• The officials have 14 days from receipt of the Notices of Charge to respond.

Context

• Earlier in May, the BCBIU charged multiple team officials, players, and franchise owners for anti‑corruption violations. Former BCB director Muhammad Mukhlesur Rahman was also charged earlier this month.
• The BPL has faced financial turmoil; BCB President Tamim Iqbal has ruled out hosting the league until financial issues are resolved.

No further comments will be made by the BCB at this time.
