DDCA Says It Alerted BCCI About Corruption in the Delhi Premier League

The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has told Cricbuzz that it informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the Tehelka report alleged corruption in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“We have asked the BCCI for guidance and will follow their advice. Anyone involved in anti‑corruption activity will be held accountable,” a senior DDCA official said. “The league was overseen by the BCCI’s Anti‑Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) and each team had an anti‑corruption official attached.”

Vansh Bedi’s alleged approach

• During the recent DPL season, a player from Uttar Pradesh reportedly approached 23‑year‑old Delhi wicket‑keeper‑batter Vansh Bedi.
• The approach was immediately reported to the ACSU.
• Bedi, who was picked by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the 2025 season, was released after the season and went unsold in the 2026 auction.

Bedi’s response:

“I categorically state that I am not the individual referred to by ex‑Ranji cricketer Rachit Bhatia in the Tehelka sting. I have no involvement in any match‑fixing activity,” he posted on social media.

DDCA’s official statement

“Given the seriousness of the matter, DDCA has written to the relevant authorities, sharing the information that has come to its notice and requesting a formal examination through established processes.”

CSK’s reaction to the Tehelka expose

• CSK announced it would review the allegations that matches involving the franchise were fixed during the 2025 season.
• The CSK board is set to meet within 24 hours ahead of its AGM on 25 September to discuss possible actions.
