Ranji Trophy Plate 2026-27 — League Stage Clash

The Arunachal Pradesh vs Sikkim fixture forms part of the league stage of the Ranji Trophy Plate 2026-27, one of the six competing teams in India's premier domestic first-class competition's Plate division. This crucial group-stage encounter will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, with the match scheduled to begin at 06:00 IST (05:00 GMT).

Tournament Context

The 92nd edition of the Ranji Trophy features 38 teams across the Elite and Plate divisions. In the Plate division, six teams — Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Sikkim — compete through the league stages before the winner is crowned in the Plate final, scheduled between January 24-28, 2027.

The Plate group fixtures run from October 11 to November 25, 2026, with each team playing a round-robin format before the knockout stage resumes in January.

Match Details

Pitch & Conditions Report

The match will be played at the Gokulbhai Somabhai Patel Stadium in Nadiad, a venue that has already hosted the opening fixtures of the Plate division, including the Mizoram vs Manipur clash on October 11.

The pitch is expected to offer average conditions across the board:

• Batting: Average
• Pace Bowling: Average
• Spin Bowling: Average

This balanced nature suggests a pitch that offers something to all three disciplines, making it difficult for either side to gain a definitive home advantage. Teams winning the toss may find themselves weighing the merits of batting or bowling first, with the conditions unlikely to drastically favor either aspect of the game.

Squad News

Both Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim have announced their squads for the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy campaign. As the match approaches, team combinations and playing elevens will be confirmed prior to the toss.

What's Ahead

This is a crucial league-stage fixture for both teams in their quest to reach the Plate final. With the opening round of matches already played, both Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim will be looking to build momentum early in the tournament.

The second round of Plate fixtures on October 18-21, 2026 also features Nagaland vs Mizoram and Meghalaya vs Manipur, making this a busy window in the group standings.
