BCB Forms Independent Inquiry Body Amid BPL Corruption Allegations

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the formation of an independent inquiry body to support the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) in its investigations into the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Corruption Allegations in BPL

The ongoing season of the BPL is facing corruption allegations, with reports suggesting that the BCB's ACU has identified eight matches under suspicion of spot-fixing and match-fixing.

Players Under Investigation

  • 10 players are under the ACU's scrutiny
  • 6 have represented the Bangladesh national team
  • 2 are uncapped Bangladeshi players
  • 2 are foreign cricketers

Franchises Under Scrutiny

  • Durbar Rajshahi and Dhaka Capitals have the most integrity flags, with 12 each
  • Sylhet Strikers and Chittagong Kings have 6 and 2, respectively

BCB's Commitment to Integrity

The BCB has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the league's integrity and stated its plans to establish an independent inquiry body to assist the ACU in its investigations.

BCB's Zero-Tolerance Policy

The BCB strictly adheres to the ICC Anti-Corruption Code for Participants and maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in any form.
