Knockout Qualifiers Announced in Elite Group Stage of Ranji Trophy

Mumbai registered their biggest innings win in Ranji Trophy history, hammering Meghalaya to qualify for the knockouts irrespective of the result between Baroda and Jammu and Kashmir. Shardul Thakur and Tanush Kotian shared eight wickets between them as Mumbai ran riot again on the third day.

Saurashtra booked their spot in the last 8 following a crushing win over Assam. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja picked up a five-wicket haul to bowl Assam out for 166 and give them an innings win.

Tamil Nadu failed to chase down a target of 234 against Jharkhand but still managed to qualify for the quarterfinal. TN needed 97 to win the game when day 3 began and were dealt a massive blow when Vijay Shankar fell early.

Gujarat stormed into the quarters after thrashing Himachal Pradesh by nine wickets. Gujarat's bowlers were on the money once play resumed on the third day as they ensured Himachal were bowled out for just 175 with Siddharth Desai picking up four wickets.

Baroda vs Jammu and Kashmir is a contest that has been marred by controversy, with the visitors alleging the pitch was tampered. J&K continued to dominate the contest with Shubham Khajuria smashing 94. Krunal Pandya and Ninad Rathva did trigger a collapse that saw the visitors go from 198/3 to 284 all out but Baroda were still set a tall target of 365 to win.

Railways were bundled out cheaply once again in the contest to lose by an innings. Delhi got bowled out in the morning after adding 40 runs to their overnight score. Needing a huge score to make Delhi bat again, Railways were shot out for just 114 inside 31 overs with Shivam Sharma picking up a five-wicket haul.

Haryana picked up the first innings lead against Karnataka with a massive century from Nishant Sindhu that saw him plunder 165 off just 184 balls. Haryana ended up with 450 in the first innings which meant they were ahead of the hosts by 146 runs.

Bengal gave Wriddhiman Saha the perfect farewell by thrashing Punjab by an innings and 13 runs. Punjab's batters failed to fire for the second time in the match as they were bowled out for just 139.

Karun Nair led Vidarbha's revival with a masterful century on the third day that has given his side a chance to pick up a win on the final day. Having conceded a first innings lead of 136, Vidarbha's recovery came on the back of an excellent partnership between Atharva Taide and Nair.

Andhra completed a facile win over Rajasthan on the third day with their batters backing up the efforts of the bowling attack. Rajasthan, who were reeling at 95/7 by stumps on the second day, were bowled out for 114 on the third day and as a result, the home side needed only 153 for the win.

Tripura kept themselves in the contest against Maharashtra with a fighting unbeaten 77 from Sridam Paul. Maharashtra continued to pile on the runs once play resumed on the third day with Siddhesh Veer completing his century.
