Murad, Taijul bag four apiece as Bangladesh complete 2-0 series sweep

Bangladesh won the second Test against Ireland by 217 runs, completing a 2-0 series sweep in Dhaka. Mushfiqur Rahim scored a century in his 100th Test, while Litton Das also reached three figures. Five of Bangladesh's top-six batters scored fifties in the second innings, and Taijul Islam took eight wickets in the match.

On Day 5, Bangladesh needed four wickets to seal the series. Ireland resisted for 68.3 overs, with Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz bowling in tandem early on. After drinks, Andy McBrine became Taijul's 250th Test wicket, trapped lbw.

Jordan Neill hit several boundaries and a six, while Curtis Campher held firm at the other end, eventually reaching his half-century. Mehidy Hasan broke the 48-run partnership between Neill and Campher by bowling Neill. Campher was then joined by Gavin Hoey, who struck a couple of boundaries before Lunch.

After Lunch, Campher and Hoey batted stubbornly, adding a 50-partnership. The resistance ended when Hoey was trapped lbw by Hasan Murad, and Matthew Humphreys fell next ball to Murad, wrapping up the Irish innings after 113.3 overs.
