Moving day has shifted from Day 3 to 1 – Kyle Jamieson
After a 16-wicket start to the Lord's Test between England and New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson said 'moving day' has shifted to Day 1.
The pacer, who took a five-wicket haul, noted that at stumps on the opening day, England were bowled out for 140 and New Zealand were six down for 61 in reply.
"Moving day has shifted from day three to day one," Jamieson said. "We've got a bit of work to do in the morning with the bat, and I'm sure we'll have another crack with the ball as well."
New Zealand resume on Day 2 trailing by 79 with four wickets in hand. They are also sweating over Matt Henry's availability, who bowled just four overs before leaving the field with back spasms.
"It's a shame for him to go down and hopefully we'll get him back at some point in this test match," Jamieson said.
Jamieson knows about back injuries. This was his first Test since 2024 after a stress fracture. He made a rousing return with a fifer in pristine bowling conditions.
"When you work your butt off and it happens again, you're sort of staring through the barrel of what would I do different?" he said. "Through the process of outsourcing my rehab, uncovering what went wrong, it gave me a lot of confidence that it wasn't really me that was the issue… there was a whole bunch of reasons why it occurred."
